EV battery questions
Can an EV battery be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Many EV battery faults come from a single weak module, a failed contactor, a coolant leak or a bad sensor rather than the whole pack. We diagnose the battery first and repair what has failed when that is the better value.
Is my EV battery still under warranty?
Most EV high-voltage batteries carry an 8-year warranty, with mileage limits that vary by brand and model. If your battery should be covered by the manufacturer or a recall, we will tell you and send you there instead of charging you for the repair.
How much does EV battery repair cost?
It depends on what has failed. A sensor, contactor or coolant repair costs a fraction of a new pack, which can run well into five figures. We scan the car and give you a written quote before any work starts. The code scan is free.
Do you test Nissan Leaf and Chevy Bolt batteries?
Yes. We run battery health tests on the Leaf, Bolt and other EVs, which is useful when you are buying a used EV or deciding whether the range loss you are seeing is normal.
Do you work on Tesla batteries?
Yes. We diagnose Tesla high-voltage battery faults, replace failed 12V and low-voltage batteries, and handle battery coolant and thermal system repairs on the Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. We are independent and not affiliated with Tesla.
