Common Rivian problems we fix
Fast tire wear and alignment
At more than 7,000 pounds with instant torque, an R1T or R1S goes through tires fast, and the inner edges go first if the alignment drifts. We mount, balance and rotate tires and align the truck to spec.
Air suspension faults
A corner sitting low, a "suspension fault" message, or a ride height that won't change. We diagnose air springs, lines, the compressor and height sensors.
12V and low-voltage system warnings
A weak low-voltage battery can cause random warnings, a dark screen or a truck that won't wake up. We test the 12V system first, because it is the cheapest fix and often the right one.
Brakes and regen
Regen saves the pads, but heavy EVs still wear rotors and calipers, and they rust from lack of use. We inspect, service and replace brake parts and flush the brake fluid on schedule.
High-voltage battery and charging problems
Charging that stops early, range loss or HV warnings. We read the fault data and battery health and tell you plainly if it needs Rivian under warranty.

Rivian repair questions
Can an independent shop repair a Rivian?
Yes. SD Hybrids is an independent shop, not affiliated with Rivian. We handle Rivian maintenance and repair including brakes, tires, alignment, suspension, A/C, 12V systems and high-voltage diagnostics.
Can you get Rivian parts?
Common service parts like tires, brake parts and fluids are no problem. Some Rivian parts are only sold through Rivian. If your repair needs one of those, we will tell you up front, before you spend a dollar.
Will an independent repair void my Rivian warranty?
No. You can maintain your Rivian at an independent shop. If a failure is covered by Rivian's warranty, we will point you back to Rivian for that repair.
How often should I rotate tires on my R1T or R1S?
Follow Rivian's schedule, but check them more often if you tow, drive hard or run all-terrain tires. Heavy EVs wear tires noticeably faster than gas trucks.
