What we fix on your Tesla
Hybrid and EV problems are rarely just mechanical. Our techs work on high-voltage systems every day, so your Tesla gets diagnosed, not guessed at.
High-voltage battery replacement
New modules, never used packs, with a written warranty of up to 10 years on hybrid batteries.
Battery repair & reconditioning
If most of the pack tests healthy, we repair and rebalance it instead of selling you a new one.
Diagnostics
Free code scan. We read the hybrid and EV system data, not just the check-engine code.
Cooling systems
Battery cooling fans, inverter pumps, coolant control valves and EV thermal systems.
Inverters & converters
Inverter, DC-DC converter and on-board charger faults diagnosed and repaired.
Brakes & regen
Brake actuators, calipers, rotors, pads and fluid on regenerative braking systems.
Electrical & 12V
12V batteries, wiring, sensors, modules and anything else electronic.
Maintenance
Fluids, filters, tires, alignment, suspension and A/C, without a dealer appointment.
Tesla models we service
Many early Model 3s and older S and X cars are now out of warranty, and their owners are tired of waiting weeks for a service-center slot. We work on:
- Model 3 (2017 and newer)
- Model Y (2020 and newer)
- Model S (all years)
- Model X (all years)
- Cybertruck
Common Tesla problems we fix
Front suspension clunk (control arms)
A knock over bumps or a creak when you turn is usually the front upper control arms. It is one of the most common Tesla repairs on every model, and we follow it with an alignment so your tires do not pay for it.
12V / low-voltage battery warnings
"12V battery needs service" means the car is about to lose power to its doors, screen and computers. We test the low-voltage system and replace the battery before it strands you.
A/C and heat pump problems
Weak cooling, no heat, or a loud compressor on a Model 3 or Model Y. We diagnose the heat pump, refrigerant system and cabin sensors, recharge the system and replace failed parts.
High-voltage battery and isolation faults
Range loss, charging stops, or a "Vehicle may not restart" alert. We read battery health and pull the fault data, then tell you whether it is a repair we can do or a warranty claim for Tesla.
Brakes, tires and alignment
Teslas are heavy and quick, so they eat tires and need alignments. Regen saves the pads, but calipers and rotors still rust and seize near the coast. We handle all of it.
Why Tesla owners choose an independent shop
No waiting on a brand service center for routine repairs, and no surprises on the bill.
Free code scan
We pull the fault codes and system data at no charge, so you know what you are dealing with.
Written quote first
You see the price before we pick up a wrench. No work without your OK.
Honest about warranty
If the factory warranty or a recall should pay for it, we tell you and send you there.
High-voltage experience
More than a decade on hybrid and EV high-voltage systems, with the safety gear and tools to match.

What drivers say
4.9 stars on Google. Read more reviews
Highly recommended if you own a prius. P1121 code fixed same day half the price of the dealership. OEM part with lifetime warranty. Staff is very professional and honest. Super smooth transaction.
These guys are great. They answered my call on a day when they weren't even open. I drove over to them and they had me with a new battery within 10mins. Very happy with this service and would highly recommend them to anyone.
Tesla repair questions
Can an independent shop work on my Tesla?
Yes. SD Hybrids is an independent shop. We are not affiliated with Tesla. We handle general Tesla repair and maintenance, including suspension, brakes, tires, alignment, A/C, 12V batteries and diagnostics, plus high-voltage battery work.
Will using an independent shop void my Tesla warranty?
No. You can service your car anywhere without voiding the factory warranty. If a problem is still covered by Tesla's battery and drive unit warranty, we will tell you so you can use it.
My Model 3 is out of warranty. What should I check first?
Front suspension, the 12V battery, brake calipers, the A/C system and a battery health check. Those cover most of the bills on aging Model 3s. A free code scan is a good starting point.
Do you do Tesla body or collision work?
No. We are mechanical and electrical specialists. For collision repair, use a Tesla-approved body shop. We are happy to recommend one.
